COVERFCT, RIVERS, KANO BY-ELECTIONS: FORMER DEPUTY SPEAKER, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMENDS PRESIDENT TINUBU, WIKE

A former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the minister of FCT Nyesom Wike for the successful and peaceful conduct of the recent Federal Capital Territory Area Councils elections where the All Progressives Congress (APC) won five of the six Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) secured one. Likewise, the APC was victorious in the bye-elections in Rivers and Kano States.

Rt. Hon. Nwuche described the peaceful conduct of the elections as a positive affirmation of Nigeria’s growing democratic civility, noting that the orderly process and calm characterising the exercise highlight the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring that the will of the people prevails.

He noted that peaceful elections are the bedrock of any thriving democracy and praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and relevant security agencies for their professionalism, vigilance, and dedication to duty.
He expressed confidence that the process’s credibility will further boost public trust in the electoral system and reinforce confidence in the nation’s democratic journey.

The former Deputy Speaker particularly commended the Minister of the Federal Capital, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, for his bold, pragmatic, and people-centred leadership. He emphasised that the visible transformation across the FCT, through accelerated infrastructure development ranging from road construction, rehabilitation, and expansion to improved public facilities, has significantly boosted the morale and confidence of residents and indigenous communities.
