Celebrating the new year with other dignitaries at the New Year Banquet hosted by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike – CON, GSSRS Friday, in Port Harcourt, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule reassured Rivers people of the House of Assembly’s dedication to serving their interests. “I want to assure Rivers people that we will not disappoint you. We stand on the mandate you gave to us, we know what to do, and we will do our job,” he stated emphatically.
The Speaker expressed gratitude to the people of Rivers State for their overwhelming support in 2024, pledging that the Assembly would remain steadfast in upholding their trust; adding that the FCT Minister and former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has been a father figure, consistently supporting the Tenth Rivers State House of Assembly. “Nyesom Wike is a man who is committed to the unity and progress of Rivers State and the Nation”, Mr. Speaker enthused.
Speaking further, Rt. Hon. Amaewhule lauded the honourable Minister for the indelible legacy he left as Governor, noting that his developmental footprints are evident across the State.
He prayed for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and applauded his administration for revitalizing the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries.
Dignitaries at the event include Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Senator Adams Oshiomole, Chief O. C. J. Okocha, Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly amongst others.
