The state chairman of the All Progressive Congress ( APC) Hon. Chief Tony Okocha has condemned the 2025 state budget that was presented to the three man House of Assembly members led by Hon. Oko Jumbo by the state Governor ,Sir Siminalayi Fubara. He described the budget presentation as an anatema, abnormal, unthinkable,unimaginable and illegal for Governor Sim Fubara to present a whole State budget to a committee of three friends.
Okocha made this comdemnation in an interactive session with journalists at his residence in port harcourt.
According to the state APC leader, the four man House of Assembly are illegal, a forum of friends, not certainly legislators.
Hon. Okocha argued that Omoshotola judgement had recognized Rt Hon. Martin Amaehwule led Assembly, as the authentic Assembly, pointing out that no court had declared the 27 State House of Assembly members vacant, adding that the 27 State lawmakers remain the legitimate Assembly members until the court and the law speaks.
The state APC leader said that Governor Sim is in a journey of perdition, he sees himself as a strong man, Okocha said.
Speaking on whether the 27 state lawmakers are members of the APC , Sir Tony said that the 27 members of the Assembly are members of the PDP and not APC.
His word,” i tried to bring them to APC, but they refused, what qualifies somebody’s membership in any organization is registration of membership, which the 27 lawmakers are not to APC,” Tony summed up.
On Sir Peter Odili’s recent statement and actions, Tony said that Odili ought to have played a fatherly role,than siding a particular person.
He said,” it was Wike that introduced Fubara to Odili, and so , he, Odili ought to call the two people and settle them amicably.
On non payment of salaries of the 27 state lawmakers for 11 months, Okocha said, ” that shows you or tell you how vindictive the present administration under Fubara is.
Reacting to assumptions by the simplified movement, a political association of Sim fubara, that it would win the 2027 general elections in the state, Okocha said that Sim and his political associates dont have the capacity to fight , let alone winning the 2027 elections in the state.
On whether Sim is still a member of PDP or not, the erudite state APC leader said that there is no proof to justify that Sim belong to a political party, and hence , he , okocha challenged Sim to show proof of membership of the PDP, if he, Sim claims to be.
He used the opportunity to plead with Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, support and pray for him as Mr president gradually tries to rebuild Nigeria.
