The former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Prince Chibudom Nwuche, OFR, GSSRS, has assured stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), that very soon the party will will reclaim Rivers state.
The former Deputy Speaker made the declaration during the end of the year thanksgiving service in Ochigba Town, organized to thank the former governor of Rivers state and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for the numerous projects executed during his tenure as governor in Ahoada East and Ahoada West LGAs.
The event which drew massive crowd, had in attendance the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike who was the Special Guest of Honour and Chief Ferdinand Alabraba, Chairman PDP Elders Forum, as chairman of the occasion.
In the entourage of the FCT Minister, were Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Chief Barr. O.C.J. Okocha, Hon. O.K. Chinda, Senator Allwell Onyeso, Hon. Felix Obuah, Hon. Victor Obuzor, Hon. Solomon Bob and Chief Tony Okocha, Chairman, APC Rivers State.
In his welcome address, Rt. Hon. Prince Chibudom Nwuche, commended Chief Barr. Wike for placing the interest of the masses above politics as demonstrated by his completion of the Edeoha-Ikata-Ochgba road which was started and abandoned by the previous administration. Hon..Nwuche remarked that the road project was reawarded by Chief Wike, at the time he (Nwuche) had not returned to the PDP.
According to Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, Other Developmental Projects embarked by Chief Wike, in Ekpeye/Engenni as governor includes (1) Construction of Edeoha/Ikata/Ochigba roads; (2.) Ahoada/Odhiemerenyi/Ihugbogo/Odhieke roads; (3) Ahoada/Ekpena roads; (4) Ogbo/Ihugbogo roads; (5) Odhiemudie road; (6)Ula-Ehuda/Odhioku/Odhiereke road; (7) Odhioku Internal roads (8) Obodhi/Ozochi road with bridge across Orashi River; (9) Dualization of Ahoada/Omoku road with street lights; (10) Remodeling of Western Ahoada County High School Ahoada; (11) Siting of Ahoada campus of Rivers State University; (12) Construction of Mbiama/Agbo/Okarki Road; (13) Remodeling of Government Secondary School Okarki; (14) Odhioku Water Project; (15) Odhioku Primary Health Care Center; (16) Ogbede School Project; (17) Odhiognor School Project; (18) Upgrading and classification of 7 traditional stools to First Class; (19) Appointment of Ekpeye/Engenni sons and daughters into positions in his government and (20) Empowerment of Ekpeye/Engenni sons and daughters through contract awards etc.
Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, also thanked the President and Commander-In-Chief, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, for apponting a Rivers son, Nyesom Wike, to the exalted position of Minister of the FCT. Nwuche noted that since his appointment, Chief Wike, has shown capacity, fearlessness and uncommon dedication to duty which result is that today Abuja is ranked among one of the finest capital cities in the world.
