The Rivers state chairman of the All Progressive Congress( APC) Hon. Chief Tony Okocha said that he would expel all those parading themselves as members of the All Progressive Congress( APC) in the state, describing those positing as members of APC without under his APC – led government as impostors and therefore would be expelled from the All Progressive Congress in the state.
Chief Okocha made the declaration while briefing journalists at his residence in port harcourt, to mark his birthday celebration.
According to Okocha, it is not the right of the court to tell the party, All progressive congress who their chairman is, saying that it is the party that decides or determines who their chairman should be or is, stressing that he would expel those that are not part of party, the APC in Rivers state.
Okocha’s words.” If Governor Siminalayi Fubara calls a meeting,i will not attend,if INEC calls a meeting i will attend, if APC calls a meeting i will attend”.
He said,” Fubara is not a member of the PDP, if elections are called today, he doesnot have a political party, he buys jugdements, the court in Rivers state is a supermarket, so he goes there to buy judgements, Okocha summed up.”
On his message to Nigerians on his birthday, the State APC chairman used the occasion to appeal to Nigerians to be patient with Mr President, but rather pray for him as he tries to fix Nigeria back, pointing out that the port Harcourt refineries have bounced back,while positing that a marching order has been given by Mr President immediate revamping of the Kakuna refineries, even as he posited that few months from now, Nigeria would be exporting fuel.
He also used the opportunity to call for prayers for the FCT Minister,Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike ,even as he extends the felicitations to National leadership of APC and other APC members in Rivers state and assured that there is still hope Nigerians should not write off Nigeria.
He also expressed appreciation to his media team who have consistently worked with him from January uptil December,2024 for their effective reportage of his programmes and activities.
High point of the birthday celebrations was gifts of food items, cash to indigent widows, empowerments of over 100 persons , prayers for the celebrant,Hon. Chief Tony Okocha and street carol night among other activities.
