The Monarch of Igbu Orlukwor O’ Group Kingdom of Ekpeye Ethnic Nation in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria, His Royal Highness, Eze Prince Ike Ehie JP, Eze Igbu Orlukwor II, Eze Ehie II, has raised alarm over renewed killings in Ekpeyeland, specifically citing the missing of two persons from Oshiugbokor community of Igbu Orlukwor, recent gruesome murder of some youths in Ihunwo, Ihuaba communities in Igbu Upata respectively and discovery of two corpses in Ula Ehuda of Igbu Akoh.
He condemned the actions as acts of barbarism that should not be encouraged in a sane society, while assuring the people that no stone would be left unturned to unravel the mysterious circumstances that led to the two missing persons, he said those found culpable would be arrested and prosecuted.
He hinted that the Nigeria Police is on top of the matter, and not sweeping the case under the carpet.
The monarch urged the perpetrators of the dastard, heinous and debasing killings to stop and turn a new leaf before the long arm of the law catches up with them.
The monarch called on the security agencies to put more efforts in their intelligence gathering to nip some of these ‘things’ in the bud, and thanked the executive chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area for having responded appropriately to support the security agencies in terms of logistics.
Eze Ehie enjoined the public to synergize with both the security agencies and the traditional institutions in volunteering necessary information that will lead to the curbing of insecurity in the land.
His Royal Highness, Eze Prince Ike Ehie JP, Eze Igbu Orlukwor II, Eze Ehie II, equally tasked parents to be more responsible and responsive in the up bringing of their children.
Eze Ehie, who gave the charge while fielding questions from Journalists at the liaison office in Ahoada Town,, stated that he was surprised to see parents scared of the children they begot.
He said during their days as youngsters, children do not indulge in certain immoral acts openly due to the fear of what would befall them from their parents, and wondered why the reverse has become the case.
He blamed parents for their lackadaisical attitudes and refusal to be firm in correcting their children whenever they erred.
The royal father charged parents to change the narrative for a better society, warning of dire consequences if they fail to call their recalcitrant children to order.
