The Rivers state caretaker Committee chairman of the All progressive congress APC,Hon. Chief Tony Okocha has rejected the judgement of the Rivers state High Court delivered by Hon. Justice H. Aprioku on the 12th of August,2024.

Hon Okocha made the rejection in a media briefing with journalists in port Harcourt, saying that the All progressive congress APC in RIvers state would challenge the judgement at the Appeal court.

According to Hon. Okocha, the Hon. Justice Sika Aprioku was baise in his judgement after collecting bribe from Governor Siminalayi fubara, pointing out that the ruling by the Hon. Justice Sika Aprioku did not come to APC as a surprise as the judgement was already preempted by the caretaker Committee of the All progressive congress in the state.

Okocha opined that the caretaker Committee of the Rivers state All progressive congress is still is not perturbed by the judgement of Hon Justice Sika Aprioku, pointing out that he,Hon. Tony Okocha is Still saddled and fully in charge of the affairs of the APC party in RIvers state.

Chief Okocha used the opportunity to urge APC party fatefuls to remain calm as there is no cause for alarm, adding that APC would take every necessary legal steps to challenge the judgement at the Appeal court.

It would be recalled that Hon. Sam Etetegwung, former state secretary of APC brought an action challenging the decision of the APC dissolving the state working committee ( SWC) In Rivers state on account of Anti- party activities of that SWC during the 2023 general elections in the state.

He said that the party while sensing the interest of the judge in the matter, portioned to the Chief judge of Rivers state, requesting that Hon. Justice Sika Aprioku recuse himself from the case or the case file be transferred to another judge of Rivers state, but to no avail.

Okocha posited that prior before now, the supreme court had ruled that court should refrain from meddling or interfering with intra- party affairs, Tony summed up.
