The former Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt, Chief Barr. Emeh Glory Emeh, has described the 13th month payment to civil servants, which as a novel development in the history of civil service in Rivers State, noting that he was particularly impressed with gesture from the state governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara.
Chief Barr Emeh disclosed that, ” The excitement shown by the appreciative civil servants was unprecedented, an indication that, in Fubara, they have found a leader that they can trust. Apart from Dr. Peter Odili’s tenure, Rivers civil servants have not had it this Good”.
He described the support Governor Siminalayi Fubara is enjoying accross the 23 local government areas of Rivers State as over whelming.
Chief Emeh made the observation when the Coalition of Rivers Democratic Alliance led by Dr. Isigma Eferebo Thompson, paid him Christmas visit at his country home in Emohua, adding that the groundswell of support for the governor was not unconnected with the populist policies and programs of his new administration within the short but very impressive period of six months.
On the Governor’s state broadcast at Christmas, and his commitment to implementing the Abuja Peace Pact, the former commissioner for transport and aviation during the administration of Dr. Peter Odili, said
“The broadcast, and the corresponding statement were brilliantly presented, particularly, in the area where the Goveenor said that implementation of the peace accord would be done in such a manner that would not jeopardize the interest of Rivers State and her people.
“This patriotic spirit is commendable. With my experience in politics and governance, Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s message at Christmas is apt, and we thank God that we have him as the Governor of Rivers state at this point in time.
“We commend the youths and other Non – Government Organ
